The tradition traces back to the 1940s and the story of a young girl named Sadako Sasaki, who folded paper cranes in the hope of a wish for healing and peace, a story that has come to symbolize hope around the world. For our family, the crane is also deeply personal. Folding paper cranes was something that brought calm and comfort to our founder’s father during his final battle with cancer, helping ease his mind in his hardest moments.
